Moose Wala has run for the Mansa Assembly seat on a Congress ticket. With a margin of 63,323 votes, he was beaten by AAP’s Dr Vijay Singla. Moose Wala, who hails from Moosa, a hamlet in Mansa district, joined the Congress in November last year amid considerable excitement. After the Congress granted him a ticket from the Mansa Assembly constituency, the then-sitting Mansa MLA, Nazar Singh Manshahia, turned against the party, stating that he would oppose the controversial singer’s candidacy.

Sidhu released a new song named “Scapegoat” on April 11, 2022, in which he laments his loss in the recent state assembly elections. The Aam Aadmi Party said that in the song. The popular Panjabi singer referred to Punjab voters as “gaddars” (traitors) in order to help AAP win.

The AAP has also alleged that Moose Wala’s song fosters the Congress’s ‘anti-Punjab’ attitude. And has requested an explanation from the party’s recently chosen state unit president. Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, on whether he agrees with the singer’s viewpoints.
