Tata Steel To Use Drones To Modernize Mining Management

Ranchi, July 27 (PTI) Domestic steel producer Tata Steel announced on Wednesday a partnership with Bengaluru-based startup AUS to provide mining solutions based on drone technology. Tata Steel has made the decision to deploy drones to modernize and improve mining management. Tata Steel and drone startup AUS from Bengaluru have partnered on this. The purpose of this agreement is to advance efficient mining management in the mining industry. The Bengaluru-based business will provide the Tata Steel group firms with specialized drones, geotechnical mapping technologies, and knowledge about the metals buried in the Earth’s womb.

Use Drones To Modernize Mining By Tata Steel

In accordance with this agreement, AUS will work with Tata Steel to offer drone analysis and geotechnical mapping services to all of its Indian units. DB “Drone survey enabled digitalization and other technologies will assist establish effective and responsive ways,” said Sundar Raman, vice president of raw materials at Tata Steel. We believe there is a significant possibility to reinvent fundamental tasks like mining planning and drone-assisted exploration. 

Two years ago, Tata Steel began making attempts to digitize its mining operations. This includes taking into consideration the present initiative.
